Fringe Benefits

Well it is no secret I am a lover of everything Free People. I also love Minnetonka Moccasins but haven't broken them out as much as I'd like to this fall because I can't wear them to work so I have to take advantage of my days off to sport these comfortable, cute shoes. I was feeling very bohemian casual in my over sized sweater, triple layer fringe boots, and my favorite statement necklace. Find similar items here: 5-layer fringe boot, Chunky Over Sized Sweater, Xavier Statement Collar

I'm totally fine that I've traded in wearing jeans and moccasins on a daily basis to be more professional and get myself further in my career in retail. However, I will never forget how nice it is to just slip an outfit like this on and feel like there are no worries in the world.

Simple and Sweet

Taking a break from my normal love of bold patterns and prints I wanted to push myself out of my personal comfort zone today and just go simple. It is very rarely I am not in some big print, bold jewelry piece, or crazy printed pants so it was a little difficult for me to even want to wear something plain. However, I was glad I did this cause it shows that it's easy to be simple and cute. It also showed me that dressing in "plain" clothes isn't always boring.

Feeling Official

Well who thought the one thing that could stress me out the most would be a single page document, yes a resume. But after weeks of tweaking it here and there I'm confident in my ability to curtail my resume for the internship which I am applying for. Boy oh boy, does that feel good.

When you're feeling good about life and where you're at there's no reason your attitude shouldn't match your outfit. So I couldn't help but be bright and cheerful today cause it feels so good when you accomplish something you've been working so hard on. I also had some business cards printed from vista print for my blog!!!

Bring Some Sunshine With You

Even with all this cold weather we've been having I've been trying to keep my positive attitude up, and boy let me tell you it is a struggle. To never want to leave your house and being forced to wear at least three layers to be comfortable is true torture. I never signed up to live in Alaska but it has been colder in State College, PA over the last week than it has been there.

In order to help keep up my spirits I've tried to break some colorful pieces out and bold prints to remind me that you can bring your own sunshine with you everyday. (even in negative temperatures )

This little one always adds some sunshine to my life too.

My Minnetonka Style

Well next to my Aztec print obsession I have an obsession with moccasins. And not just any kind of moccasin but Minnetonka moccasins. They are just the most comfortable, long-lasting pair of moccasin I have ever owned. If you have never tried a pair on it is highly suggested.

Here are the styles I currently own from Minnetonka:

Newest addition to my collection, the fringe wedge moccasin.

I Wanna Feel The Impact As We Collide

YAY! The weekend is finally here and I am going on an adventure to Philadelphia tomorrow to see a DJ, Sub focus. I'm going to be seriously depressed in life if I ever have to take a break from the concert/festival binge I've been embarking on since this past summer. It's just something I believe keeps the soul young to continue letting loose and enjoying little nights out on the town, no matter how old you get.

Picking an outfit out for a concert can be one of the most difficult outfit choices a girl faces. Especially when it's that time of the year where it's necessary to have a jacket on but there is no where to put your jacket at the venue, so you just don't bring one. It is just such a dilemma, do you dress warm enough so that you'll be okay outside? Or something summery so you don't sweat to death in the venue?

I was inspired by my favorite song Tidal Wave, that I am dying to hear live. It was the song of the summer cruising in my jeep during late nights. A layered look is necessary with the dilemma I explained above. I kind of made the base of the outfit something I would wear to a summer concert, high wasited shorts and an intricate one piece that's ripped and tied on the side. Also adding tights and boots to the look to make it a little more winter appropriate. This bright blue grandpa sweater was the perfect cardigan to throw over the entire look and stay warm.

Tis The Season To Spice Things Up

Sometimes you need to take a break from the norm. Break out of that daily routine and throw some spontaneity in your life. Skip class today and go enjoy lunch with a friend, dance in the rain, or just curl up and relax with a good book. Life can't always be taken so seriously, we have the rest of our lives for that. It's time to live in the moment and enjoy what mother nature gave you before father time takes it away. (Thank you Marisa for the wonderful quote)

On that note I also feel very strongly about not caring what others think & say. You eliminate a lot of little daily stresses when you stop taking things personally. A suggested book that I absolutely love is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. Especially when it comes to your personal style, don't ever let someone tell you how to dress, unless it's an important family event and mom's opinion over rules. Be confident enough to not give a fuck what anyone else thinks when you are questioning whether or not something looks right or matches. It doesn't matter, what matters is what you think and how you feel about yourself. So often we over look our own feelings & tastes to fit into the mold of society but that needs to stop.
