Back To Black

If you read my blog regularly you can tell I am a person who loves bold patterns and bright colors. So for me to go out of my comfort zone I need to be a little more conservative and take a step back in my very outgoing, fashion-forward approach. It is great to change it up sometimes because it's nice to see myself in a different way and challenge myself to think of different style icons that I don't typically look at.

Modern Business Casual

I love to dress nicely at work but I also hate when you're rushing home afterwards to get into "comfortable" clothes to go out to drinks with friends. That is why I believe it is so important to have that transitional look that you can still be appropriate in the office in but also be able to just go straight out to dinner after work without worrying that you look too business like.

That is why I decide to showcase a look I recently wore to work and would definitely also wear out, with a quick couple changes. This adorable jumpsuit from H&M is very form flattering on my petite frame, but with the cut-outs on the side I decided to wear a camisole underneath it for work. Throw on an Arc. & Co. drape front blazer over top and I was work ready. Change the flat into a heel and loose the camisole and jacket & you're ready for drinks!

Firefly 2014 Festival Fashion

In the midst of my busy life getting used to the hustle and bustle of city life I am so glad I got to escape for a few hours and attend this amazing festival for the first time. Firefly music festival took place in Dover, DE and thank goodness was just a short hour and a half drive from Philly. I was so happy to go to meet up with some State College friends and more importantly to see all the festival fashion.

I was so stoked that my Festy Besty x Grassroots day collection hat came in the mail just in time for me to sport it at Firefly. Paired that with some cut-off black denim shorts from Forever21 and a pattern batten bralette from my favorite Free People. Enjoy my pictures and videos from my awesome experience!

Easy & Carefree

Wish this was how my life was going but at least I can dress like it is. I love being able to just be comfortable some days but still being able to be styled and put together. This look can come across as someone who does care about what they look like but also cares about making it work for them and their daily life. I love being able to put relaxed looks together like this.

Rocker Chick Spirit

Getting excited about attending Friday of Firefly music festival and want to show a little rocker spirit. Who doesn't love a good pair of denim, lace-trimmed shorts, and an open tank. Not to mention this tank is a vintage Bonnaroo shirt from 2003. This kind of an outfit reminds me of my favorite Tom Petty song Wildflowers. You belong among the wildflowers, you belong somewhere you feel free.

Daily Adventures

Living in a big city compared to my rural acre and half lot I was used has definitely been more of culture shock that I was expecting. However, I have to say I am impressed with myself and my dogs adaption to the change. Our daily chronicles usually involve of waking up before the sun is shining and trying to get a run in a least three times a week to explore our surroundings a bit. Then I have to leave him all day and go to my fabulous internship at the King of Prussia, it is so tempting to go shopping everyday but I have been good so far. Dealing with rush hour traffic on the way home has become a lesson for me, I am learning patience and am thankful for that.

I am so thankful my dog has also been adjusting well and been keeping me company on my time off. I am sure I will explore the night seen a little more around Philly once I meet some people to go out with. For now it is focusing on doing the very best in my new position and taking care of myself and bruiser.

Adult Pajama Day

I don't know about the rest of you but one of my favorite days in school was wear your pajamas to school day. Now not literally but metaphorically I would like this to translate to my job sometimes! Who doesn't love to just be comfortable and have a low maintenance plan for those mornings your are in a  rush.

These paisley print pants from LOFT are one of my go to adult PJ days for work. The blue, greens, and yellow in them make them match a lot more than you'd first think! I went with a more simple look of summertime ready while still being work appropriate.

Long Time No Post

WOW, Time has definitely gotten away from me this last month. I never thought I could go a whole month without blogging but life got in the way. I am no longer in Central Pennsylvania I have moved my entire life including my Pomeranian Bruiser down to Philadelphia to start my young professional career. I have been so blessed to be working an amazing internship down here and love the area I am in.

Back to fashion of course I have been wanting to post all sorts of cute outfits but didn't have time to do photo shoots of many. I also wanted to include a little snip-it about my May Blogger Swap Box with Victoria from Australia. It was so interesting getting to know Victoria and about her journey being a UK citizen in Australia. It also came at a very appropriate time because she was able to reassure me that moving and change are things to embrace.
