DIY Moon Crest Dream Catcher

Sometimes I need to take a break from fashion and share something completely unrelated. Currently I am in a transitional period in my life and career path so I apologize for my inconsistency with my posts lately but I assure you Carlita's Closet is here to stay. I will be getting back into the blogging grind as soon as time allows, or better yet as soon as I continue to make time for this passion of mine.

Today I wanted to share some DIY ways to really spruce up your apartment, dorm room, or bedroom. My first DIY project up top is moon crest dream catcher, made out of some vine, hemp string, feathers, and wood. All of the materials besides the hemp string are things I found in the woods on a walk. Creating the moon crest shape with the vine was the hardest part of the whole process, I tied it together with some hemp once I got the shape I desired. Then I started the process of looping the hemp string into a dream catcher before adding the wood to the bottom to hang my feathers off of. The other crafts include painting on rocks, creating a crystal grid for healing and grounding, and hanging some antlers I found for a new necklace holder. What are your favorite DIY apartment projects??

Business Professional with a Modern Twist

Something all of us young twenty year old's need to learn as we get ready to enter the professional world, or for some of us who recently have! Being business professional has changed a lot from what it was viewed at 5-10 years ago and gives women a lot more freedom this day in age. One thing I am a huge fan of is that suits do not have to match necessarily, mix and match is a way to get the most out of a few great pieces. Being so petite it is very hard for me to find professional work clothes at an affordable price but I usually have luck at ANN Taylor LOFT. The look above is something that is office appropriate but not something I would wear on an interview. The top would be more plain if I was just going in for an interview.

Take a walk on the wild side

One of my favorite quotes for a good night out is "live for the nights you won't remember with the people you won't forget". That's how I felt every weekend in college going out with my girlfriends and now being 21 experiencing the bar scene can be similar too, just much more expensive. Who doesn't love getting dressed up for a good night out though? This look is a simple but boho chic bar going outfit. My shirt and bralette are from none other than Free People. The black skinny zipper side jeans are by Current Elliot with the fringly Steve Madden's to top off the look. Paired with some of my favorite pieces of jewelry I am ready to go!

Boyfriend Jeans

Every girl needs a good pair of boyfriend jeans. A comfy pair of jeans to just be able to throw on and go do errands in or go for an afternoon out on main street with the pup. I was so happy when I got these KUT from the Kloth jeans on sale at Nordstrom. They are the perfect amount of distressed with a option to be cuffed or straight leg. This along with one of my favorite Free People new romantics tops I was ready for a day out and about. These Jeffery Campbells are my go to shoe I am sad for fall to be coming and to have to pack them up. I am thinking about

Rose Gal

I bet a lot of you have seen the ad on Facebook, if your a frequent online shopper, for this super discounted site Rose Gal. Well I took a leap of faith and order these super comfy printed pants from them for $13! Although it took about 3-4 weeks for them to get here they fit great and were worth the wait. They felt like I was in my pajamas all day but in reality I was running around work. I will definitely be ordering from this site again.
