Indian Summer Vibez

I have a feeling it is going to be an Indian summer down here in Philadelphia with hot September afternoons and perfectly chill evenings. The hustle and bustle of the school year has everyone back to business and getting ready for fall to come. However, this year it is different for me I am finding a balance between working full time and still find my way down here in my new surroundings. It is an amazing transition and one I am happy to make. State College will always be home but I am ready to explore for the next few years.

New Moon Wishes

It is a new moon and a great time for you to start putting out there in the universe any new accomplishments you wish to achieve in the next few months. New moons are time for a fresh start and can help shed a new outlook on your life. Especially for everyone just getting back to classes this week it is an important time to really set goals for yourself.

I have found that the power of believing in yourself can really help you get to these goals you are setting. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, even when you can't figure out why you just have to accept it and move on. For my new moon wishes I am planning on doing a little ceremony to put out there into the universe all that I wish to achieve between now and Christmas time. If you do the same I wish you good luck!

Transitioning Into Fall

I know, I know I am not ready to admit it either but I have to admit the sweaters in my wardrobe are looking mighty comfy. Summer is going by in a flash this year but I am already pinning away with inspiration for my fall 2014 wardrobe. I'd like to keep it short and sweet today but share with you these few images I have been collecting, and new trends I am dying to try this fall. I love getting inspired from Pinterest.

DIY Amethyst Druzy Necklace

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend like I did and were able to get in touch with what makes you happy. Yesterday I was able to spend some time with my Mom when she came to visit down in Philly and we attended the Bead Expo that was going on in Phoenixville. It was an amazing learning experience from the class we took called Crowning Glory, which included soldering together a bevel that we were then able to set a stone in. I would love to start doing more of this and so would my mom. I am considering possibly even starting an Etsy shop with things like this and body chains. Let me know what you would think of that!

Endless Summer

I could enjoy this weather all year round, mid 80's during the day dropping to 60's at night so you can finally sleep with a window open and not the air conditioner. It is winding down to the last days of summer and they are something that definitely needs to be celebrated and enjoyed. Although this amazing weather may not be sticking around forever it feels like an endless summer for me because it is the first time in fifteen years I will not be returning to a classroom. I am so excited to graduate in a month and go on my graduation cruise with my best friend and second family.

My days off have been used to enjoy the little nooks and crannies I am beginning to love of Manayunk down here in Philadelphia. I am really starting to get used to life in a city and that is something that I am proud of. I have been quite good this summer about spending as well which is difficult working at the King of Prussia and being exposed to all the amazing shopping around the city. In September along with the daily adventures segment I plan on showcasing different boutiques and shops around Philadelphia each week. Please leave a comment below if there are any places I need to hit up!

The World is Your Playground

Go explore it! I cannot believe how much beauty I see everyday exploring around Philadelphia and even on my drive to work up 76. There are constantly new places I am finding that are gorgeous and tucked away in such a big city. I was excited to take the time today to scout some new shooting locations, thought my apartment was getting a bit boring as a backdrop. I was so pleased to find this abandon house very close to my apartment building. So Bruiser and I took the camera and went on a hike, I think the results turned out pretty well.

70's Vibes

If you romp around in a romper do you jump around in a jumper? I sure did in this one! After putting on this jumper from Nordstrom I felt like a true 70's child with my bell bottoms on. It is so funny how history repeats itself, especially in the fashion world. Every time I show my mom something new I bought she says, "I had something just like that when I was your age!"

One thing I have learned working in the fashion industry is that you must stay true to your style and allow it to change as you do in life. I will always have a hint of bohemian style in my wardrobe but  I have been mixing in more mature pieces as well to fit my new job title as an assistant manager. If you want to really grow with a company or sell yourself in an interview you need to be confident in how you look.

Daily Adventures

I had the best time last weekend enjoying the Mad Decent Block Party in Philly on Friday and venturing to Sea Isle, New Jersey for a beach day Saturday with my good friend Marisa. It was such a pleasure to have a weekend off for the first time this summer. However, if I learned anything this summer it is that hard work pays off. When I get near the ocean though I just feel like I belong, I will live near a beach someday.

My concert look was a simple PacSun and H&M get up. For the beach I went with a Billabong bathing suit, Nasty Gal floppy hat, and LOFT romper. Get outfit details below.
