With Love in Her Eyes and Flowers in Her Hair

Inspired by one of my favorite bands today Led Zeppelin. Going to California is such a beautiful song and symbolizes and lot to me, as it was one of my favorite songs growing up along with Wildflowers by Tom Petty. Wonder how tomorrow could ever follow today, that was always a line that kept me wondering. Until you've had one of the best days of your life then you realize, I feel on top of the world how could this day ever end. Those days can be followed by even better ones though believe it or not, and even your crummiest days give you something to learn from.

Carlita's words of wisdom:
Every single girl should buy herself flowers once in a while.

Daily Adventures

Living in a new place I am getting to explore so many new places and it has been so exciting. I was asked recently if I have been on any trips yet this summer or done anything fun on top of working as much as I do, and to be honest each week I have done something new and exciting or been able to explore a new place. Philadelphia is so rich with history and there are constantly new things I am discovering.

For example last weekend I was able to go out Friday night and explore the Old City Philaldelphia for the first time which was so neat. The cobblestone streets were a bit much in my Jeffery Campbells but I held up like a champ. Also the Spruce Street Harbor Park was even more cool at night with the light shows. If there are any other places in the city you suggest me visiting please let me know! It feels as though I am just getting started.

#NSale

Shop it before it's over, or before that pair of boots you've had your eye on is gone in your size. It was a little difficult to get myself in the mood to shop for fall and winter clothes when it feels like summer just started, but once I started it was hard to stop.

These were my three amazing finds at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

1. Topshop Print Bodycon $39.90!

This piece is awesome because I could wear it on a chilly night out in the end of August or transition this dress into the winter months with tights and boots.

Desperately needed an apron and this one seem to fit perfectly for my new experiences down here in Philly.

3. Frye's Patty Bootie  $218.90!

These are my new babies and I cannot wait to break them out this fall. There are so many options with these cute little heel booties, and they're not too high so still work appropriate.

Philadelphia Lovin'

This city is beginning to take my heart, there is always something new to explore or something going on in this city. I am so happy I am independent enough that I don't mind just walking the city all day alone, when it's not too hot though I love to take Bruiser along with. Today was the perfect city day to walk the dog, not too hot and a little bit of clouds to hide the powerful sun.

I got to explore the Spruce Street Harbor Park for the first time and will definitely be going back there a few times this summer. It is so nice to have an afternoon off to just drive through Philadelphia and get to know my surroundings better. Today's look was some vintage jean shorts bought at thrift shop, an Urban Outfitters tank, and one of my favorite Free People bra's. Topped off this look with a fedora and my adorable new necklace from the Poketo pop-in shop at Nordstrom.

Maxi Obsessed

The ease of a maxi dress is just too good to resist. It's a guaranteed way to make getting ready in the morning much faster, or at least for me it is. Whether it is just a plain maxi that could go with anything or a crazy print I love mixing these pieces into my wardrobe to make the summertime filled with cute and easy outfit ideas. Today I chose a printed maxi that I got from Francesca's. Paired with a white blazer makes it perfect for a summer afternoon.

Sweater Weather

Well from the couple weeks of 90's and humidity we had I am not complaining about this slight dip in temperature down here in Philly. The evenings have been very cool and the perfect breeze to go on a nice long jog with the dog. I have been freezing when I am in air conditioning all day though so I decided to break out one of my favorite light weight summer sweaters. This skirt is also a favorite for work and easy transitional piece to wear out.

Feelin' Flirty

How could you not feel a little flirty in a skirt or dress you just want to twirl around in? It's been so hot and humid down here in Philadelphia it definitely called for a light dress day. Nothing beats getting ready in just a few easy steps in the morning either. I could wear a dress just about every day of summer. This cute little number is a Tracy Reese dress from Nordstrom.

Fringe Benefits

I am in love with the summer trend of kimonos. There are so many different styles of kimonos it's easy to find one that speaks to your style. Of course mine had to be covered in Aztec print and fringed. I scored this baby in the winter off Same Old Chic, if you've never checked it out I suggest doing so! It is an awesome site to find some really unique pieces.

I love this trend not only because the pieces are so unique but you can throw it over a dress, a romper, or even a shorts and tee look. It is very versatile and who doesn't love adding a little fringe.

Home Is Where You Make It

I am happy to say I am adjust quite well to the city life compared to the rural one I was used to. I wanted to share with you my closet today and how I have organized it down here, along with a couple of my sanctuary areas around my apartment. It's important to bring the vibes you want with you when entering a new place.

It is sad to say the only reason I don't believe I could have a roommate in my apartment is because I take up the space of the walk-in closet, and the two linen closets in the apartment all with my clothes...oops. Can you tell I have a problem? I have to say clothes are my passion and that is why I believe I will always work in the retail or fashion industry.
